Using Neteller For Poker
Signing up with Neteller turned out to be a lot more trouble than I thought it should have been. Since I lost all my whole wad ($10) on Royal Vegas Poker I started thinking about transferring some more money to my Poker account, and it looks like Neteller is very popular and I don‘t see too many people complaining about them on the internet. The first problem I had was finding their web site. I looked and looked and found all kinds of sites that sounded like Neteller. If your going to play online poker it looks like you really need a good way to access your money online, something like Neteller. So even though it is a bit of a problem it should be worth the trouble. I tried hunting for a link to Neteller but can't find one. I searched Google for Net teller and came up with several different sites none of them seemed to be the right one. I search some more and think I found it so I start signing up and it tells me to come to a branch in Maine and talk to them about finishing up my signup process, well I am in California so it's not so easy to go to Maine for me, I guess I won’t be using that Net teller. I give up on Neteller and try a couple others sites, one only works in Canada, I'm in the USA so that does not help me. Another one I can't figure out how to sign up. Sometimes it’s hard for me to believe that I have a masters degree in computer science. The problem is I have been typing Net teller and Netteller.com and I should have been using the spelling Neteller, and I didn't think of trying that spelling. Also, I go back to Royal Vegas Poker site and I finally figure out that there is a link to neteller but it's just not that easy to find. Neteller wants my name, address, email, phone number, and the last 4 of my social security number, and birthdate. I don't like giving out all my personal information to every web site in the world that asks for it so I make up a birthday and reverse the numbers on the last 4 of my social and sent off my application. it wants me to verify the hotmail address I gave them, so I do. Then it comes back and tells me there is a security problem and I have to call security. I call them at 11pm and they answer after a couple minutes and the guy asks me to repeat all my information so I tell him, but this time I go ahead and give him the right social security last 4. He says is there some reason why you switched the numbers for your social on your application. I play dumb and say no, maybe I was tired and got it wrong... sorry... Then he goes into a big long winded speech and tells me I have to go to the social security office and get an official document and mail it to them after I do a bunch of other stuff, or I can give him my whole social security number right now. I break down and give him the whole number - and the right one at that. He comes back and says ok he was able to verify it and opens up my account. By this time it is 2am Monday and now I am trying to sigh up my bank account to transfer some money. They have to do the small deposit thing where they put a couple cents in your account then ask you how much it was. I enter all the information off one of my checks and start waiting. Of course they don't say how much any of this service will cost, they make some vague reference to it being free, but I search google and get some information about the fast transfer costing you around 8%. So far it hasn't cost me anything, but I haven't transferred any money yet either. -- two days later (well more like 38 hours) I check my bank and they tell me a deposit is in the process and will be cleared later today. Neteller said it could take up to 5 days but it looks more like 2 days. The money was transferred to my Neteller account with no charge since I used the slow method, so I was ok with that.
