Bad Poker Players - Don't Run Them All Off

I start my online poker game today and some guy at the table get really upset because he lost to a lucky river card by someone playing a hand they really shouldn’t have been playing in the first place.

The mad guy just keeps on and on about how stupid that play was and how bad it was. I always tell people “nice hand” when they catch their 2 outer on the river.

I want these people to keep playing so I have a chance for the odds to kick in and get my money back.  I don’t want to run off all the bad players, that’s where I make most of my money.

On my next table I sit down and start out playing to the right of the dealer. At a full 10 person table this is almost the same as starting in the big blind.  You miss out on 3 hands out of 10 and you don’t have to pay the small blind.

I didn’t think of this before but it is actually a little cheaper to start behind the dealer instead of the big blind.  I guess you learn something new in poker every day.

At the .50/$1 table if you start in the big blind your paying 1.50 for 10 hands.  If you start after the dealer then your paying $1 for 7 hands, which is 14.2 cents per hand instead of 15 cents per hand.

I agree its not a huge savings. *ha ha*

Anyway, I started behind the dealer and no one raised so I am playing with 3 6 and the flop hits me with 2 more 6’s so I have to keep playing.  After I win this guy starts about how bad I am to play that hand.

Now at this point I can bring it to his attention that he is an idiot and does not know what he is talking about since it was a required bet for me to start playing.

But I almost never do this, I just say “oh sorry it’s my first time playing, I didn’t know what I was doing.”

Then I always say something about “beginners luck”.

I want to keep as many idiots and people who can’t pay attention at the table as possible.

Later someone noticed that I was playing on 4 tables and said something about it, so I answer that I am just “trying to maximize my beginners luck since it seems to be working for me.”

I have never figured out why people want to run off the bad players, I wish there was a special table with only bad players that I could play at, and I got to pick how much the blinds were.

One more thing, if they win any money they can’t leave until I tell them they can go.  So I won’t be losing any money to someone hitting a few lucky hands against me then leaving.

That’s the poker table I want to play at.
