Empire Poker - Playing the Bonus

I have been staying away from Empire Poker because they will close your account if you just play the bonuses, and I really don’t like playing the extra hands to keep my account open.

For some reason I want to keep this Empire account open, I guess for the freerolls.  But since they screwed me out of the last freeroll now I really have no reason not to play the bonuses until they kick me off.

Plus since Party Poker kicked Empire Poker out last week they may not be so eager to get rid of their customers anymore.  But who knows what they are going to do.

I have already cleared 4 bonuses at Empire Poker so I am at risk now of having my account closed but who cares.  I signed up for their latest 100% $100 bonus.

Since I only deposited the $100 I can only play at the .50/$1 tables I have 1000 hands to clear to get the bonus.

I played 3 tables for 2 hours and cleared 156 hands so I am getting 26 hands per hour per table.

So I have to play 38.5 table hours to clear this bonus at the .50/$1 limit tables.

I don’t mind playing with $25 per table even though it is a little low, I won’t play a table with $20 it’s just not enough to keep me from thinking about the money.

I have a new rule, anytime I find myself thinking about how much money I have on the table I stop playing.

I glance at the amount every 15 minutes or so just to make sure it is staying up enough that I can keep playing, but if I find myself looking more than that, then I stop playing.

I see people playing with $4 and I can just hear them thinking… Oh no, I only have $4 if I bet $2 I will only have $2 left to play the next hand.

If you’re thinking anything like that you not playing your cards, and you will lose – it’s just that simple.
