Empire Poker Rake Increase

Empire Poker raised their rake not that long ago.

So did Party Poker, and the other Party Poker skins.

I am currently clearing the bonus at Empire Poker and I just noticed that the rake is 10% for some reason I was thinking it was 5%.  Bet365 Poker still has the 5% rake.

Now that I think about it I remember some people talking about this a while back, but I really didn’t pay too much attention to it until recently.

I have been looking at my stats and I am noticing that when I play these 1000 hands to clear this bonus there will be an extra $250 taken out of the pots.

Taking out an extra $250 is a large amount.  It will be spread out between all the players who win the pots so I am not paying all of it but it still represents a good chunk of extra money to pay.

When you look at the impact of playing over many months it really adds up.  

They also increased the maximum rake on the higher tables from $2 up to $3 per hand.

This also represents a major number when you look at playing 40,000 hands or more over a period of months.

It’s hard enough to make money playing poker I don’t need them raising the rake especially doubling the rake.

Personally I think this is a little extreme.
