Thank You Poker Stars
I just played in the Poker Stars blogger freeroll. And I wanted to say:
- Thank You Poker Stars
They seem to have a ton of tournament games; it was a little difficult finding my poker game in with all the other poker games they had listed. But I guess I can’t complain about having too many games can I *smile*.
The first thing I noticed at the poker table was that most people have their picture, or a picture for their icon, I feel a little left out with no picture, since I am the only one at the first table with out one.
The picture really makes a difference when you’re playing. I have played maybe 100 tournaments at other poker sites, and I would have trouble telling you 1 or 2 people that I have played against.
I really don’t pay a lot of attention to their screen names, if I noticed them at a table again there may be 1 or 2 I could pick out as maybe having seen before.
But with your picture there I can probably remember 20 or 30 players from Poker Stars after just the first time there.
Steve Forbes was there, I would probably remember him even if I didn’t see him again for 5 years. It really makes an impression.
The next thing I noticed is that for the people who are not playing it says “sitting out” where their $$ should be for them. This makes it very easy to tell who is not playing.
This probably helps out the newer players more than it does me, but anyway now you know on the first hand who is there and who isn’t, and you don’t have to worry about keeping track of it if you’re playing other games.
The next thing I noticed about Poker Stars was that it gives you a lot of time to make your move, then you have a button that you can click to give yourself an extra 60 seconds.
The first thing I thought was this would really slow a game down, but almost no one was using it.
I am not sure if I like this feature, it really depends on how the players use it, but I must admit it was a creative idea. This way if someone is not there they just get their cards folded quickly and if you really need more time to think it will give it to you. Very nice idea Poker Stars I would like to see that at some other sites.
At first I thought the graphics were a little slow as the cards were being dealt. But the game seemed to play fast. I can’t really explain it but after the first minute I was happy with it.
They give you just the right amount of time to look at the cards without holding the game up.
Overall I was impressed with Poker Star’s site and I will definitely play there again in the future.
