Moving Up To $1/$2 Tables
I decided to move up to the $1/$2 poker tables and today my first hand was AA – not a bad way to start.
One guy raises, I re-raise and we keep doing this - the board has all rags until the river when a King falls.
He bets and I call, he has KK. I lose $22.00
Next hand I get AQ hearts, the board fills up with clubs 4 of them. I lose another $5.
Two hands and I am down $27 this is going to be a little tougher than I though. Here is where I normally crawl back to the .50/$1 and play for a week to get my money back.
But I decided this time I am going to stay at the $1/$2 tables so I continue playing.
As luck would have it after about an hour I get most of my money back somehow.
I am thinking that to make any money playing poker I have to start playing the higher tables.
A good player makes between 1 and 2 big blinds an hour. That’s about what I am doing.
So to keep playing at the .50/$1 poker tables is going to keep me making about $1.00 an hour. I can play 4 tables and boost my income up to $4.00 an hour.
Plus bonuses, but that’s not the kind of money I am looking to make anymore.
I am trying to play with $50 per table but I can see that is only going to work on some tables. I guess $75 per table is probably a little closer to what it’s going to take to play at the $1/$2 tables.
