Playing Bad Poker Or Just Bad Cards

I got on 3 $1/$2 limit tables and immediately lost $60 – that’s a big hit for me.  I was down $40 from yesterday so that’s $100 in 2 days.

Here is where I usually crawl back to the .50/$1 tables and lick my wounds, but I am going to tough it out.  Unless I lose another $100 then I am going to crawl back to the lower tables for sure.

I guess losing is part of poker and you have to get used to it. On the lower tables I seldom lost $15 so I was ok with that, and most all of the time I lost on one table I would be up on the other 2 for at least half if not more.

I have noticed I start watching the money when I start losing, and I know subconsciously that makes me play bad.  I don’t know how but it just does.

Then I get a set two different times and both were beat by straights.  Then I flop a straight and on the river the other guy catches a full house.

I raised AA preflop and get called by 68 but they were suited, flop T98 the turn Q, the river 6.

I bet he calls and he hits 2 pair on the river.  That’s when I leave, I can’t take it any more.

I will be back, even if I have to lose another $100 to clear this $50 dollar bonus.  *lol*

I am going to try and not get too concerned about how much I am losing, I am still way up overall.  I want to set a time frame for playing, like 2 months and try not to think about it until then and then look at my account and see how I am doing.

The only think I need to do is come up with an amount that I will walk away from the table when I lose that much, I know at some point it will have an effect on my play so I need to get off before I start playing bad.

I don’t mind losing money because I am getting bad cards, but when I double it up and lose twice as much because I am also playing bad that’s what really gets to me.

The guy sitting to my left got a straight then two full houses in a row.  I only called one of the full houses to the river so saved my self some money there.

I flop top pair the next hand and I am ready to fold before he bets because I know he has me beat, that’s when I know I am playing bad.

When the little box pops up and says are you sure you want to fold (stupid) no one has bet yet, you can still check.
Time to get off the tables for a while.
