Short Handed Poker Starting Hands

I have been looking for some information as to which starting hands are good for short handed small limit poker games.

I ran across a couple of websites that start out like this… “I sat down at the $5/$10 limit table and 15 minutes ago player X just left with $2000 from this table, $700 came from player Y who made all his money in the stock market and now plays poker to kill time and keep busy he also goes on tilt if he loses more than $500 in a game. When he is on tilt his poker games…..”

Ok so this tells me that this guy has some software that shows him how much each player at the table had 15 minutes ago and he know a great deal about each player and exactly how they play.

That’s way more work than I ever plan on doing, I kind of like to play poker.  I don’t enjoy keeping statistics on 8000 players and exactly how they play and where their money came from.  That’s what I could call a job, I have decided I am not looking for a job so I am probably not going to be playing with this guy $5/$10 anytime soon.

I read another site where the guy talks about having one site where he bought a computer and leaves it running 24/7 so he will have every single hand ever played.  He said he started it around the time the site opened so he can go back and look and any hand played on this site and the tables he plays.  And everyday he has all the tables up and records every person so when he sits down he knows every hand you have played at that site.

Too much work for me, poker is just a fun way to make a couple bucks, I don’t really care who has how much money and what hands they played 2 years ago, or how much their net loss is over the last 9 months.

That’s taking all the fun out of poker for me. I wouldn’t mind making a couple hundred dollars extra a month, but I guess that’s about it, and I am not really willing to work too much for it.
